I would mix pinks with floral prints and maybe even a few polka spots when putting together decorations. You could use plenty of pretty fabric bunting to decorate the party area. Would be lovely to use linens on the table along with plenty of fresh flowers - might be a nice touch to add a vintage teapot or a painted metal watering can as a centrepiece on each table with some freshly cut flowers.
To capture the mood of a traditional British afternoon tea it would be lovely to use lots of beautiful vintage china, ornate cake stands, doilies and of course the essential party flags showing descriptions of what delights are on each plate!
There is nothing better than quaint finger sandwiches with dainty fillings alongside scones, with jam and lashings of cream and a delightful Victoria Sponge.

Hi, we live in the United States and my daughter will be turning 16 in 2013. We have already attended quite a few parties for Sweet 16 this year for her friends and they all seem to have a theme. She immediately picked out her theme which is an “English themed” party. He wants all the girls to wear the fastenators and the boys some type of hat. I thought I would have top hats there for them. What types of foods would be appropriate as well as decorations?
